We had a plan to motor (no wind) on Thursday from Dania Beach to the south end of Biscayne Bay, Pumpkin Island, where we stayed before we got to Dania Beach last month. Then we were going to leave around 6:00AM Friday and motor (wind on the nose) to Bimini.
Then I had a lightbulb moment. “If there won’t be any wind tomorrow or Friday between here, Miami, and Bimini, why not go to Bimini tomorrow?” Everyone looked at each other and said, “Yea, why not go tomorrow?”
Our COVID-19 tests all came back negative, so there’s no reason to wait. We celebrated with stone and snow crabs for dinner. Thanks Tony and Lidia. We should have bought your dinner since you’re crewing with us for the next two weeks.
We spent Wednesday night on the fuel dock (Shh, don’t tell anybody) and left at 4:46AM. We were 16 minutes late. No big deal. I was stoked because I drove off the dock!
